Obzor

HISTORY
Many centuries ago here was an ancient Hellenic village called Heliopolis, which means - city of the sun. The ancient Greeks named this wonderful place so because of the abundance of sunny days. In the era of the Roman Empire, here was the summer residence of the emperors. In the center of Obzor, you can walk along a shady alley - a small museum in the open. Here is an exposition of fragments of columns and capitals found during excavations in a magnificent ancient temple.
CLIMATE
The combination of mountain slopes with superb wide sandy beaches and clean sea create a unique microclimate. The sea here is always 3-5 degrees warmer than at Golden Sands and Albena.
BEACHES
Obzor’s beaches with their golden sands are considered to be amongst the best in Bulgaria. The sea along the coast is not deep. A wide sandy beach is stretching along several kilometers. Beaches in the resort are free of charge. In service to the ones who want, at extra cost, there are chairs and umbrellas.

You can visit Varna (60 km), the ancient town-museum of Nessebar (total 30 km), the famous resort Sunny Beach (25 km) where you can visit the large and modern aquapark. It is also possible to make a sightseeing trip to Sofia and Rila Monastery and to Istanbul for 1 or 2 days. Obzor is a resort for those who want to drop the daily burden of care, to indulge in the holiday atmosphere in rural areas to find spiritual comfort and to get a new charge of vitality.
